Man Utd news: Red Devils linked with three midfield targets

United prepare for a key summer window

Manchester United are expected to be active in the summer transfer market after securing Champions League qualification.

Michael Carrick’s side sit third in the Premier League and have confirmed their return to Europe’s top club competition. Carrick has also strengthened his case for the permanent job after winning 10 of his 14 matches in charge.

Despite that progress, United are planning squad changes before the new Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

Casemiro replacement becomes a priority

Central midfield is one of the main areas under review, with Casemiro expected to leave.

United are reportedly looking to add 2 midfielders this summer to improve depth and prepare for a heavier schedule.

Bournemouth pair Tyler Adams and Alex Scott have been linked with moves to Old Trafford. West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes is also said to be under consideration.

Several Premier League names remain on the list

United are also monitoring other midfield options across the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Brighton’s Carlos Baleba are highly rated by the club.

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali and Wolves player Joao Gomes have also been mentioned as possible targets.
