Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has indicated that an announcement about the former Liverpool forward’s next team could arrive soon.
Salah ended his nine year spell at Anfield during the summer after reaching a mutual agreement with Liverpool to terminate his contract one year before its scheduled expiry. The decision allowed the Egypt international to leave the club as a free agent.
His future has remained a major subject of speculation since his departure. Salah also helped Egypt reach the last 16 of the World Cup before attention returned to the next stage of his club career.
Several clubs linked with Salah after Liverpool exit
Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal have frequently been described as the favourites to sign the 34 year old. Teams from Major League Soccer in the United States have also shown interest in the Egyptian forward.
Turkish clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas have also been mentioned among the possible destinations. However, neither Salah nor his representative has confirmed that formal negotiations with any of those teams are close to completion.
Abbas has now suggested that clarity over the player’s future may not be far away. Writing on social media, the agent admitted that Salah’s next club was still unknown, but added that the situation could become clear very soon.
He also stressed that they would not hold talks with clubs Salah had no genuine interest in joining simply to attract media attention or create transfer rumours.
Abbas continues to dismiss unconfirmed reports
The latest message follows two previous statements from Salah’s representative. On May 24, Abbas said that they did not know where the forward would play next season and warned supporters against believing people seeking attention through unverified reports.
That statement was published only hours after Salah made his 442nd and final appearance for Liverpool, bringing an end to one of the most successful individual careers in the club’s modern history.
Abbas returned to the subject on June 12 and confirmed that Salah was doing well. He explained that neither he nor the player wanted to discuss private plans with individuals who were not directly involved in the process.
Salah camp keeps negotiations private
The agent added that both he and Salah prefer to handle major career decisions away from public discussion. Although they may respond politely when asked about possible destinations, Abbas made clear that such answers should not be interpreted as confirmation of negotiations.
Salah’s next move therefore remains uncertain, but the latest update suggests that an official decision could be approaching. Interest from Saudi Arabia, the United States and Turkey continues as the forward considers the next chapter of his career after leaving Liverpool.
