Cristiano Ronaldo has once again topped the Forbes list of highest-paid athletes, marking the fourth occasion in his career, with Spanish golfer Jon Rahm rising to second place.
Ronaldo also led the list last year following his landmark transfer to Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr.
According to Forbes business magazine, the 39-year-old Portuguese striker earned $260 million over the past 12 months, an increase from the $136 million he made the previous year.
Beyond his exceptional football skills, Ronaldo boasts an immense fan base — over 850 million followers across Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), more than any other athlete globally. This extensive reach is a key reason why brands are so eager to associate with him.
Ronaldo’s rival, Lionel Messi, who was second last year, has dropped to third place.

Basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo ranks fifth, alongside his peers LeBron James in fourth place and Stephen Curry in ninth, all featured on the list.
