Manchester United has confirmed the departure of Patrick Stewart, the interim chief executive, and Cliff Baty, the chief financial officer, at the season’s end. Jean-Claude Blanc, currently the chief executive at Ineos Sport, which holds a minority stake in United, will temporarily fill Stewart’s role until July 13. Subsequently, Omar Berrada, joining from Manchester City, will assume the chief executive position permanently. Additionally, Roger Bell, formerly of Ineos Sport, will take over as the new chief financial officer.
Leadership Transition at the Football Club
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, head of football operations, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply appreciative of the support from Patrick and Cliff. They have played pivotal roles in acquainting us with the club and creating a welcoming environment. I respect their decision to step aside as we form a new management team.”
