However, 71% of fans are open to selling Mainoo in the summer of 2026, assuming no new deal is reached before then, as he would be entering the final year of his contract.

When asked to choose between Mainoo and fellow academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho in the event that United needs to sell one this summer, 64% of supporters voted in favor of keeping Mainoo, while 36% preferred Garnacho’s departure.
Potential Transfer Fee and Profit Concerns
Should Manchester United decide to sell Mainoo, a significant transfer fee would be expected. Over 50% of fans said they would only accept a bid of more than £70 million, with 22% open to a fee between £61 million and £70 million. The sale of Mainoo could represent a “total profit” for the club, helping them comply with Profit and Sustainability rules.
