Eddie Howe misses Newcastle press conference due to illness

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been forced to miss his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester United. The Magpies’ boss has been feeling “really poorly” and has been confined to bed this week, with his assistant, Jason Tindall, stepping in to provide updates.

Tindall reassures ahead of weekend match

Tindall confirmed that Howe’s absence had not affected the team’s preparations. “He’s been really poorly in the last couple of days. He’s been bed-ridden,” Tindall explained. Despite Howe’s absence, Tindall assured that the preparations for the Manchester United match have gone ahead smoothly, with him leading training alongside other staff members.

“We’ve been in daily contact with Eddie, speaking three or four times a day, and I’m sure he’ll be okay for the weekend,” said Tindall. He emphasized that the team’s excellent attitude and preparation would ensure they were ready for the upcoming challenge.

Newcastle’s pursuit of Champions League spot

Newcastle’s strong form this season has seen them rise to fifth place in the Premier League, just behind Chelsea in fourth but with a game in hand. The team is aiming to maintain its momentum to secure a Champions League spot next season. A win over Manchester United would help them take a step closer to that goal while also completing a league double over the Red Devils this season.
