What is a trixie bet? People can choose three out of four events in this type of bet. As well as three doubles and one triple. You’ll get your money back if you pick at least two wins.

Here’s the Trixie bet explained:

  • 3 doubles (two selections combined into a bet).
  • 1 treble (all three selections combined into a bet).

There are a total of four bets on three different choices. You won’t get paid if only one selection wins in a Trixie bet because it doesn’t include singles. But you will get paid if at least two choices win.

Trixie Meaning in Betting

Advantages of a Trixie Bet:

  • Higher Chance of a Return: Compared to a straight treble, a Trixie offers a better chance of getting a return because you can still win with just two successful selections.
  • Bigger Potential Payouts: If all three selections win, the treble combined with the doubles offers a higher payout than betting on singles.

People who want to cover more than one result with less risk than a full accumulator but still want a good payout like to use a Trixie.

Trixie Bet Example

Let’s say you place a Trixie bet on three horse races:

  • Selection 1: Horse A to win Race 1.
  • Selection 2: Horse B to win Race 2.
  • Selection 3: Horse C to win Race 3.

Your Trixie bet would include:

  • Double 1: Horse A & Horse B to win.
  • Double 2: Horse A & Horse C to win.
  • Double 3: Horse B & Horse C to win.
  • Treble: Horse A, Horse B, and Horse C to all win.

For your bet to pay off, at least two of your picks have to win. The more choices that win, the bigger the prize.
